Announcing the Inaugural Kingston Kiteboarding
Festival, February 12th,2005
Experience
White Winter
Wind
Powered Sports for anyone who loves winter fun.
Signaling the
middle of the winter sailing season when the ice is
thickest and the winds are strongest, skill and
passion abound as wind seekers young and old enjoy
free riding in the outdoors.
Although many
of the ice and snow sailing sports have been around
since the early eighty’s, the popularity of, the
summer-time equivalent, kite surfing over the last
four years has brought more visibility to kite
powered winter activities.
The festival
brings together some of the most experienced ice and
snow kiting enthusiasts in the region.
It will be
held each year on the shores of Lake Ontario which
offers a sailable terrain ten times larger than the
total skiable terrain in Whistler, British Columbia.
The Kingston
Kiteboarding Festival is an independent,
not-for-profit recreational sport event whose
mission is to support and promote the interest and
safety of ice and snow sailing.
