Group Ride -
Tomorrow night Tuesday August 19, 2008 |
 |
|
|
We
are
having our third group ride tomorrow
night,
Tuesday night at St. Timothy's Catholic
School on the track. We have adjusted
the start time by half an hour due to
day light hours. It will run from
approximately 7:30-8:30pm.
Update from last weeks
ride:
-
challenges
-
hill climbing
skill was generally considered
the most difficult skill, so we
broke down the technique to
demonstrate for the riders. To
see a similar breakdown, have a
watch of this You Tube video
from 3cvtv on
hill climbing. Get those
toes kicking!
-
general comments
-
I think that the
riders found the session
valuable and would likely attend
again. It was indicated that
they would rider more if they
had someone else to ride with
when not at the session. To
address this, if you're
interested in hosting a ride
session and you think you have a
great location, let us know and
we'll try to have a group ride
in your area.
If you:
-
have a Trikke, we
encourage you to bring a buddy and
we'll supply them with one for a
short try session while demos are
available.
-
don't have a Trikke,
come anyway and we'll introduce you
and a buddy to the Trikke in a very
relaxed terrain session while demos
are available.
-
are unsure about the weather for the
session, call 416.497.9463 for a
status.
-
would like some help on a particular
aspect of riding, (hill climbing or
tricks [you're never too old to
play] for example) let us know in
advance and we will do our best to
accommodate you.

Riding advice on the Track
If Tuesday evenings are not a convenient
time, please let us know the most
suitable times and we'll try to schedule
a better time and/or alternate session
in the future. We're also thinking of a
session on the weekends, but are
currently open to suggestions! |

Back
in
June, we mentioned we were going to
try to find a way to connect you with
other Trikke riders. Well, we just
released our first phase of this. It is
called
Trikke Connections.
In order to maintain your privacy and
adhere to our
privacy policy, we have only
published a pin in your town/city to
indicate there is at least one
Trikke rider in the vicinity. Should you
wish to have more information added to a
locator pin on the map so that other
Trikke riders can contact you, we need
your permission and the information that
would be published. There is also a
grading level of skills based on level 1
to 3. The description of the skills of
each of these will be in an upcoming
email, but you could assume that they
represent beginner (or level 1),
intermediate (or level 2), and advanced
(or level 3) for now. Level 3 would
include being able to high climb from a
stationary position. All pins points or
marker points are assumed to be level 1
until verified. More on this in up
coming newsletters.
Some of the other Trikke riders have
already been in touch with us and
allowed us to publish their name and
email for example. The ultimate choice
is yours, but we hope that you'll
contact us so that other Trikke riders
can connect with you. It is so much more
fun to Trikke with a buddy!
We hope that our next
release will be more informative and
include favourite riding locations. |
