Dear Rider/Spectator,
If you
missed the action on Saturday, above are some
snaps of the action this afternoon at the
festival (click for more). Although the winds were forecasted on
the lower side of the sport, the hard ice
surface allowed riders to enjoy a reasonable day
riding. There were low winds during the morning
which allowed a few riders some minor runs. Most
of the day was dead calm, which allowed for many
spectators to interact with the kiters and for
kiters to reacquaint with old friends.
Unfortunately for many of the
spectators who left by about 2:30 or 3:00pm, the
winds picked up to about 20km/hr NW. Most of the
riders enjoyed the late afternoon blast.
The festival organizing
committee would like to thank all the riders,
spectators and volunteers for their efforts this
afternoon and for making the day safe, enjoyable
and memorable for all. There
were no incidents or cut lines.
