We would like to welcome all those new Trikkers since last fall. It has been a while since we've written and as you can see below you can always go back and read the news letters that you've missed. Apologies for keeping this letter brief, but we will have a more informative letter soon. It is our plans to have some technique videos to share some of the things we have learned since the fall as well as a few spring cleaning tips for seasoned riders.

A few things about tire pressure that we've discovered in the last few months. Tire pressure on the Trikke is very important. There are currently only two types of air or pneumatic tires on a Trikke. Either 8 inch or 12 inch. They typically came with some purple tags on them that indicated the pressure; usually 80lbs in the back and 75lbs in the front. We have found that some tires are not holding their air as long as others.

In almost 100% of the case that we've tried of tires not holding their air, the valve needed to be tightened. This is not the cap, but remove the cap and the value stem can be tightened up. Normally you require a special tool for this that probably most bike shops have and it would typically be a one time tightening. So your local bike shop could do this or if you're in our area, you could come by as we now have the tool. If you're without these opportunities, it may be possible using some simple tweezers or a small screw driver which you may have at home. This we will test and let you know. For the tire valves that I've had to tighten, the amount of turn was anywhere from an eighth to a quarter turn for tightening. We'll include some pictures in our next letter to show it visually.
