Traction Kites - Access Series (Beginner - Intermediate)

Authorized Peter Lynn Dealers

Peter Lynn Impulse (Released Fall 2007)

You want to get into some serious kiteboarding, landboarding or snowkiting action, so let's get your kite flying skills sorted quickly. With kite powered board sports, you need to control your kite and board at the same time. The easiest way to learn these sports is to get your kite flying skills sorted first, rather than jumping on the board straight away. You need to get a feel of how the kite responds throughout the whole wind window, where the kite produces the most power or the least and how to steer your kite when wanting to get onto the board.

The Impulse is the perfect trainer kite for future kite powered board sport riders, allowing easy control with a control bar and a solid but not too aggressive pull across the wind window.

Flying Characteristics

Easy Handling
The Impulse steers easy and quick by means of a control bar. The control bar allows riders to steer the kite precise and easy and helps riders to get used to the feel of a bar in their hands.

Docile Pull: The Impulse has a good docile pull so you can get some serious power out of the kite. Within your first few sessions of flying your kite, having some good pull from the kite allows you to get used to kite power quickly. This way you will be ready to take on the bigger kites. However you don't want to go too big right from the start as this will keep you from exploring the wind window and understanding how kites fly and respond to your steering movements.

Stability: New profile in the Venom gives the kite greater lift without even having to be powered up.

Constant Flying Speed: The Impulse has a constant flying speed, so you won't get too many surprises and remain in control at all times. Try flying figures and loop your kite with full control and feeling of what you are doing.

Easy Relaunch: There will no doubt be several occasions where you crash your kite. No worries, we all need some time to learn how to fly a kite. The Impulse has been designed to relaunch quickly and easily, so in no time you can get the kite back into the air for more fun and excitement!

Features

  • Low aspect ratio for easy handling and predictable flying behaviour.
